I share my thoughts on stuff, things that inspire me and some of my memories that might as well inspire you. Hope you have a great stay!
Start of the new decade got me (like everybody else) quite reflective. Looking back at what’s been experienced, done, achieved and what’s still to come. Overall feeling? Very exciting stuff.
The other day my friend asked me about my thoughts on 2019. I’ve never really done it as I’m always more excited for what’s to come than dwell in the past, but when I took a moment to reflect on this year come by, I’ve realised it was a pretty damn good one.
This post has been 2 years in the making. Why? Because it's hard, because what will people think, because no-one cares, because what if my family reads it and it will just make them sad, because what if people will be mean and it will just make me sad…
It is true that moving to London involves a vicious circle of dependancies and it’s very easy to get lost and frustrated in the process. A very good example: you need a bank account in order to rent a flat but you can’t open a bank account if you don’t have a permanent address in the UK… What the actual f**k?!
So that’s a first: I’ve written a very personal post. There won’t be any travel guide here, no pictures of my cute dog and not even a recipe. Just me, myself and my opinion on something.
I have always been repelled by doing things how they should be done. If you’re following a recipe step by step there is no room left for creativity and excellence that comes with it.
Don't tell me that global warming does not exist when it is now over 30°C in Poland and barely 18°C in France. Last weekend I was wearing a winter sweater here in Paris and let me remind you - we're approaching end of June. Are we?!
Because it’s no news that spending quality time with our loved ones is the best we could ever wish for. Add a bit of travel and a table covered with good food and you’ll have at least two happy faces looking at you...
It's really hard to get excited about fall, especially in Paris with its never-ending rain, grey sky, and low temperatures. There's something however, that I'm really looking forward to thinking of this time of the year...
So it’s been 2 years now since we first officially announced that one day we’ll get a dog. A big one, Bullmastiff most preferably, and we’ll call him Jabba (yes, like the galaxy's most powerful gangster) – we actually decided on this when we first met 5 years ago.
With the big trip coming up (we're leaving for Japan today!) July was all about enjoying summer in Paris.
I don't need to mention once again how special weekend mornings are for us: lazy time spent on just enjoying the time together. And last weekend it was the three of us since Hubert the dog joined us for the few sunny days! This charming little love ball only made us want to get one of our own pretty soon...
Not being really planned like this, June stood for getting away from the Parisian hussle and enjoying our time in the wilderness. We spent a wonderful weekend in the French Alps...
The month of May was full of sunshine, friends and long afternoons dizzied by bottles of wine. From Italy, thorugh Provence, to Paris - good springtime memories so worth saving up for later!
Let's be honest: who doesn't like pancakes? A perfect and one of our favourites go-tos for weekend brunch, it has always seemed a bit too time-consuming and too messy to prepare a batch for both of us. It did, before I discovered this Jamie Olivier's smoothie pancakes - all you have to do is to mix all ingredients in the blender and you're good to go.
