hi! I’m Maja

I share my thoughts on stuff, things that inspire me and some of my memories that might as well inspire you. Hope you have a great stay!

1 day in Cambridge ♥

1 day in Cambridge ♥

We’ve been planning this little getaway ever since we moved to London but were waiting for a sunny day to do that… 8 months later it finally happened. It was a short 1-day roundtrip but perfectly enough to get a taste of the city and see everything you want to see.

So just a few facts and tips about Cambridge:

  • Getting there from London is super fast and cheap: off peak roundtrip (weekends) form either Liverpool Street or Kings Cross costs only 13/person and takes around 1h15 one way.

  • Cambridge is not very dog friendly… unfortunately. If you have a furry friend like us and want to visit the collages or walk in most of the adjacent parks, it would be advisable to leave the doggo at home.

  • It is a very small city - or rather, everything you might want to see is close so I wouldn’t see a point of using any other means of getting around than by foot.

  • It’s not easy to find a nice place to eat, ideally with a sunny terrace if the weather is nice. After some walking around we found this place and would highly recommend it - it’s very cheap, serving proper English pub-style food and has a charming terrace in the back overlooking the canal.
