hi! I’m Maja

I share my thoughts on stuff, things that inspire me and some of my memories that might as well inspire you. Hope you have a great stay!

Somehow when you’re looking for places to visit on French Riviera, Grimaud does not come up. It’s a mistake and this place should definitely be on top of your list - it’s now on mine and I’m even going to say that It might be one of the most beautiful villages in France. Yes. Minus crowds of tourists. Need more?

Grimaud

We didn’t even plan to go there, just ended up by chance. Our main destination was Saint-Tropez but looking for an affordable accommodation turned out impossible and so we ended up in Grimaud. Thankfully!

We arrived in the early afternoon and had the rest of the day just to walk around the village, which I would highly recommend to anyone, especially in the full bloom season (June). Don’t forget your cameras too.

We stayed in this Airbnb which was small but all we needed for a one-night stay. It’s not in the centre of the town but Grimaud isn’t that big either so you’ll definitely manage to go everywhere by foot anyway (I was quite pregnant at the time and managed just fine!). I won’t share with you a list of places to see as every little street and every corner was just beautiful - walk around, enjoy it, you’re welcome.

Port Grimaud

On our way from Grimaud to Saint-Tropez we stopped in Port Grimaud for breakfast. The old town lined along the canals and small harbours was quite cute but with a more of Disneyland-type of vibes. Lots of tourists and souvenir shops - worth a stop with managed expectations :)

Saint-Tropez

Our final weekend destination: Saint Tropez. The big snobs we are (ha!) we actually went there… shopping. Which is pretty much the only activity in Saint Tropez if you’re not there to marvel at the fancy yachts (or sail them, of course).

It’s still a pretty place, especially the old town and because the weather wasn’t great it wasn’t even that crowded. We stopped at La Petite Plage restaurant for lunch, which I found in the Michelin guide and I’d recommend it too. It’s not too expensive, the food was very good and the place in itself is beautifully decorated with nice views over the harbour. Consider booking in advance!
