2019 highlights & plans for 2020
The other day my friend asked me about my thoughts on 2019. I’ve never really done it as I’m always more excited for what’s to come than dwell in the past, but when I took a moment to reflect on this year come by, I’ve realised it was a pretty damn good one. It went so fast I didn't even notice, filled with travel and family time, adjusting to our new life in London and well, new life as a married couple. As I’m saying goodbye to 2019, I am beyond excited for 2020 and some pretty exciting stuff are in the cooking.
we started the year with a bunch of friends
… and I’m ashamed to say I had enough alcohol to last for the whole year.
we continued discovering London
and loved every day of it!
we visited sunny Cuba in the middle of February
… crossed it off the bucket list and saved as a memorable experience.
we looked for the best taco in Mexico City
… and it only left us longing for more! Mexico is now officially on our have-to-visit-one-day list.
we spent the loveliest weekend in Edinburgh
- the city that surprised us with its beauty!
we spent some family time in Provence…
while hunting for those picture-perfect sunflower fields.
…and celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary
(when did the whole year pass by we don’t know…)
we discovered as much of England as possible…
with day trips to Surrey Hills, Cambridge and Brighton.
…and then we went on a UK roadtrip
to see Wales and the beautiful Northern England.
we climbed Mount Snowdon
with our little Buddy!
and hiked the Caucasus Mountains
during our dream trip to Georgia.
we are now excited for the next year to come…
… as we have some very big plans for the upcoming 2020!
Travel-wise the places we already have in the pipeline are Russia, Mongolia, China and Singapore (all of which we’ll see during our dream Trans-Siberian trip!), plus a surprise trip for Thomas’s 30th birthday in March! We’ll definitely stop by France and Poland a few times to visit our families, and plan a city break in Berlin at some point for sure.
There are some places I have on my bucket list and would love to visit but have not planned for them yet… Copenhagen, Faroe Islands, New York or Mexico.
